ACM SAC (Symposium on Applied Computing) 2004

It was held in Nicosia, Cyprus. This was my first international conference as a presenter, and also the first trip to foreign country except for U.S.A. It is memorable for me not only because of the first experience but thanks to good friends I met there.

There is no direct flight from Japan. I transited in Italy, i.e. Milano for outward and Rome for homeward journey, respectively. It took 13hrs from Tokyo to Milano, and three hrs to Larnaka. Cyprus is to join the European Union on May 1st this year(2004), after that it will change drastically.
Personal impression to Cyprus --- many things are mild and soft, e.g. climate, color, taste, and so on, except for drivers attitude.  (:P
