Our vision
Computer Mediated Daily Lives - The quality of our daily lives is decreasing due to a large amount of information. The goal of computer technologies is originally makes us happy, but they are making our daily lives more and more complex.
Distributed and Ubiquitous Computing Labolatory (DCL) is working on increasing the quality of our daily lives by using computer technologies. Currently, we have the following three projects. The first project is to develop middleware for making it easy to develop application programs. New services will not be created by programmers, and it is possible to increase human creativity by making it easy to develop applications. In the second project, we are creating new daily artifacts that are augmented by computers and sensors. The artifacts make it possible to develop new services by retrieving information about our real world. In the third project, we are developing a new operating system to offer services without stopping for 24 hours. Our operating system increases the reliability and security significantly.
Our labolatory is working with many industrial companies to make our research practical. We develop prototype systems that can be used as real products. We are also proactively presenting our research work in various international conferences.
